ABOUT US
Irtysh Intercultural Space — a place that brings people together through languages, culture, and social projects.
Cultural Center Irtysh is a nonprofit foundation that has been developing educational, cultural, and social initiatives in Almaty, Kazakhstan, since 2007.
One of our key areas of activity is teaching Spanish and promoting the cultures of Spain and Latin America.
We help our students achieve their goals: gaining admission to international universities, building international careers, preparing for language proficiency exams, travelling, discovering new opportunities, and making friends around the world.
On October 1, 2025, Cultural Center Irtysh officially became an Instituto Cervantes Accredited Centre (Centro Acreditado por el Instituto Cervantes), making it the first and only centre in Kazakhstan to receive this international accreditation.
Our team consists of qualified teachers, including native Spanish speakers from Spain and Latin America, as well as experienced local educators.
Beyond language courses, we organise cultural events, educational gatherings, and social projects, creating opportunities for communication, collaboration, and intercultural dialogue.
We believe that languages open doors to new opportunities, culture brings people together, and collective initiatives help create positive change in society.

Reviews
Ayim
I decided to pursue higher education in Spain, and the first step was to choose a language center. I chose Irtysh because they have excellent teachers. The education system is great, and we primarily speak Spanish, which helps us improve our speaking skills. We also have various events, like movie nights and celebrating Spanish holidays.
Zhanali
I started learning Spanish because I plan to apply to a medical university in Spain. I love Spain; it’s a vibrant country.
At Irtysh, there’s always a comfortable atmosphere, and I feel at ease, like I’m part of a family.
Thanks to all the teachers at the center for this!
Zhanar
I am in Mexico and I am very happy and grateful that one day I decided to learn Spanish at the Irtysh center!
Uliyana
For me, learning Spanish has become something inspiring. It’s an interesting and positive language for me.
The center’s location and atmosphere are very convenient.
Thank you so much!

“Mis idiomas”
Yo hablo kazajo con mi corazón,
es mi lengua madre y mi canción.
Con mi familia siempre lo uso,
me da fuerza, cariño y abrazo seguro.
Ruso uso para escribir en Internet,
allí paso horas y me siento bien.
Con mensajes simples puedo hablar,
y con mis amigos me pongo a charlar.
Inglés hablo para leer y aprender,
con libros y películas puedo crecer.
Viajo con palabras por todo el mundo,
y cada frase me lleva profundo.
Español hablo en Иртыш con alegría,
con amigos comparto risa y poesía.
Cada palabra es luz y color,
y en mi corazón siempre hay amor.
Elena
I’ve been studying Spanish at Irtysh for almost 4 years, starting with zero knowledge. I always wanted to learn Spanish so I could watch movies without subtitles and read books in the language. And now, I can do that!
There’s always a friendly atmosphere at Irtysh. Everyone comes in tired after work or school, but during the lessons, we all have positive energy. This is also thanks to the teachers.
Aktoty
My name is Aktoty. I speak six languages and began learning Spanish at Irtysh. My teacher is Asiya. In just four months, I reached a good level, and when I traveled to Barcelona, it was easy for me to communicate in Spanish. I’m grateful to my teacher Asiya and the Irtysh center.
